May I apply for an Israel Science Foundation grant ? |
Our Foundation can only fund projects by Israeli scientists submitted through recognized Israeli universities and research institutes. Applicants must be PhD or MD graduates employed at such institutions. |

What is the schedule for submitting an ISF grant application? |
Individual research grant applications and pre-proposals in FIRST individual grant and Legacy Heritage Bio-Med should be handed in until Nov. 1st. Applications for grants in other tracks should be handed in until Dec. 1st. These are the final dates for the research authorities to apply to the ISF. Each research authority has its own requirements as to the submission date in order to comply with the ISF´s schedule. We recommend you ask your research authority when you should submit the application for its approval. |

How can I apply for an ISF grant? |
The application process contains two steps: The first step, registration, is performed online for all proposal tracks. The second step is submission of the full proposal. For individual research grants, FIRST Individual track and Legacy Heritage programs this is done online. For all the other tracks, please download the form, fill it in and submit it to the ISF as a file and a hard copy.

What computer can I use? |
ISFonline supports the following:
PC users: Operating systems: WIN XP, WIN 7 Browsers: Internet Explorer version 7 and up. It is advised to add the ISF site to the Trusted Sites, and allow pop-ups in the ISF website.
MAC users: Operating systems: MAC OS X Browsers: Mozilla Firefox version 3 and up (can be downloaded for free at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/)
The system is best seen at a resolution of 768X1024 and higher.
ISFonline most likly will work correctly using other platforms, but the ISF cannot be responsible for that and cannot fully support in those cases. |

How do I use the online application system? |
| For each program there is also a user manual that can be downloaded from our site, the "Guidelines and forms" part in the "Applications" section. |

May I recommend reviewers for my own application? |
| You may add an appendix (chapter 12) containing a list of recommended reviewers. You can send in names of reviewers you would prefer not evaluate you proposal. We try to take these requests into consideration whenever possible. |

Are the attached files restricted in length? |
| Yes. Applicants are asked to keep their Reserch plan to under ten pages and they may attach an additional 5 pages of figures, images or charts. Proposal bibliographies and applicants’ lists of publications can be up to 5 pages. The whole file should contain no more than 2.5MB. |
