This program is intended for university researchers only during the first three years since they join the academic system, and requires the institute´s obligation to participate in the funding at a sum that is at least equal to the ISF grant. An application in this channel is submitted only together with a personal research grant application, submitting as a single principal individual investigator, in the same year. The maximum funding by the ISF is $300,000.
The ISF´s management ascribes great importance to the support of these grants, and therefore tries to avoid budget cuts in this channel. In 2011, the ISF will fund the building of 32 new laboratories for new faculty members, at a total cost of 20,280,000 NIS.
