The purpose of this program is for the ISF to participate in the funding of advanced and expensive equipment for university researchers only, at a cost of $600,000 to $1,500,000. The ISF funds up to 50%, in other words $750,000 at the most. The institute must fund at least the same amount that the ISF does, make the equipment available to other researchers from other universities (charging them for the operation expenses as is customary for researchers in a hosting institute). The ISF´s management decisions take into account also national considerations as to the university system in Israel.
This channel was run only once, in 2002. Due to budget cuts, it has not been run since.
